Last Spring while on a Girls’ Retreat, I found this little doll size oven at an antique store called The Ramling Rose in Heber, Utah. I had no idea how I was going to use it, but had to buy it. Not one regret yet. After Christmas came down this year, I had this completely blank slate of surfaces but I couldn’t bear to throw away the lovely gingerbread house my sweet neighbor, Annie Larabbee, baked for me after my step dad passed away. I enjoyed it the whole month of December but still wasn’t ready to let it go. So while setting up Valentines this year, my mind wandered to that girls weekend and I remembered I had this safely stored away. I thought the merge of the gingerbread house and the oven would be perfect for valentines. I would remodel the home into a Love Shack! Jeni Gochnour created little ceramic sugar cookies last year for her Valentine’s show that I added one to the front of the house along with her little red ceramic houses that I nested in tart pans and glass jars of sugar. It set the theme for the rest of the decorating throughout the house and for my upcoming Galentine’s Day.
